Day 18: Part 1 Riding Into the Unknown (14 August 2025)

Some rides are planned to the last turn. Others… well, they just happen. Today was one of those days where the map stayed in my pocket, and the road decided for me. The morning had that restless sky—half clouds, half sunlight—like it couldn’t make up its mind. I rode anyway, letting each fork in the road pull me somewhere new. Somewhere unplanned. Stopped at a tiny dhaba tucked between fields, where the owner insisted I try his “special tea.” It was sweet, strong, and came with a story about how he once rode a bicycle from his village to the city just to watch a cricket match. We laughed like old friends even though we’d just met. Later, I found myself on a stretch of road so empty it felt like I’d fallen off the edge of the map. No cars. No noise. Just the sound of my engine and the wind trying to keep up. Day 18 reminded me that sometimes the best rides aren’t about getting somewhere—they’re about getting lost in the right direction.
