The Historic Seven Mile Bridge Rehabilitation Project, FDOT District Six FM# 413721-2

On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, the FDOT and community partners celebrated the inauguration of 2.2 miles of newly rehabilitated Historic Seven Mile Bridge from Knights Key (Marathon) to Pigeon Key. This video highlights the history of this National Register of Historic Places-listed bridge and the unique engineering and construction methodologies used to restore the century-old bridge to the U.S. Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation of historic structures. This newly restored bridge will once again provide a safe and scenic facility for pedestrians and bicyclists, as well as visitor access to historic Pigeon Key.
