The BYD Seal 6 Premium is a rear-wheel-drive electric sedan built on BYD’s advanced e-Platform 3.0. It’s designed to offer a balance of performance, comfort, and affordability, making it a compelling choice for EV buyers in Malaysia. It comes equipped with a 56.64 kWh Blade battery using LFP chemistry, paired with a 160 kW motor that delivers 215 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 7.5 seconds. The WLTP-rated range is approximately 412 km. For charging, the Seal 6 Premium supports 7 kW AC charging and up to 100 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 30–80% top-up in just 23 minutes. Boot space is rated at 460 liters with a 65 liter frunk, and the car’s dimensions are 4720 mm in length, 1860 mm in width, and 1495 mm in height, with a generous 2820 mm wheelbase. Safety-wise, the Seal 6 Premium includes 6 airbags and a few ADAS features. Premium-exclusive features include ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker audio system, a panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade, and power-adjustable front seats. It comes with a 6-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km warranty for the battery and drive unit. Buyers also receive a free wall charger for landed homes or Sime Darby’s Platinum 4+ doorstep DC charging for high-rise residents. This adds significant value and convenience for urban dwellers. In comparison, the GAC AION ES is priced at RM106,800, while the Honda Civic 1.5L E costs RM133,900. The Toyota Altis 1.8E is priced above RM130,000, and the Mazda 3 1.5G High Plus retails at RM119,620.
