This weeks livestream topic is an earful! Have you ever looked at an ear or wax really closely? Subsurface scattering is a commonly overlooked mechanism when rendering out skin and waxy objects for beginners. The idea behind subsurface scattering or "SSS" is that light penetrates a surface of a translucent object and is scattered by interacting with the material and thus exits the surface at a different point. A quick example is taking your hand and holding it into the sunlight and looking at the red glow inside your fingers. This is an extremely important topic to understand for rendering out objects that are translucent so don't miss this one! Don't forget to ask questions for us in the livestream because we love receiving them! Whether is be on SSS, Art in general, or even a fun question. See you guys in the stream.
