Rarely do I create authentic work that has depth and personal meaning to me that I feel comfortable sharing with others. The camera doEs soMething to your soUl. It can create the smaller changes that affect your flow. In the past 100 videos, I like 5%. Most of my music has been what I like to play but the intentions were not clear. My intentions were to make music for others to enjoy. This creates an ego. It blocks the flow of authenticity in oneself. Much of my unrecorded music is my emotions from the day. I perceive those days as no one would want to hear it because it’s not radio worthy. But the truth is those are the days that I’m playing for me and the most meaningful. Those are the 5 songs or 5% I like. When playing to a crowd of songs you created for the people, it’s unfulfilling. It creates emptiness and insecurity. The connection with the instrument is weak. I’ve never played authentically for a crowd. It’s all been a stage. Today I share who I am without and ego. I’m grateful for the people close to me. Im grateful to have a home. I’m grateful to experience the highs and lows of life. I’m grateful for my faith. I’m grateful for those who believe in me even when I don’t believe in me. I’m grateful for never giving up on the toughest challenges faced in life. I’m grateful to know I will experience an even harder challenge down the road. God bless. -
