A third victim of Saturday's crash in Largo has died of their injuries, the Largo Police Department said in an update Sunday. Largo Police said a 78-year-old woman died after she was driving one of the cars involved in the crash. The two-car crash left two children dead and several others hospitalized Saturday in Largo. The Largo Police Department said the crash happened just before 2:00 p.m. at Orangeview Drive and Ridge Road. Officers said a southbound Dodge Durango collided with a Kia Soul that was making a left turn. Two children, ages four and 10, were killed in the crash. Three other adults were taken to the hospital, two with serious injuries. One of those adults died in the hospital. It is unknown what exactly led up to the crash. However, police say alcohol "does not appear to be a factor." All of Ridge Road from Ulmerton Road to 8th Avenue was shut down for several hours but has since reopened. Adarius Hayes, a linebacker for the University of Miami, was identified as the other driver in the crash. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A native of Largo, Hayes was one of the nation's top-ranked linebackers during his time playing for Largo High School, according to his official stats page. A sophomore, Hayes reportedly chose Miami over offers from Florida, Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State, among other schools. An investigation is ongoing.
