After doing just a few songs that AREN'T main chapter themes, I'm finding myself making lots more adjustments to instrumentation and chord structures than I expected. With Breath of Fire 2, the melodies carried each song so hard that the chords underneath would be simple and straightforward. The team that did Sacred Stones' OST used lots of interesting chord structures that fit well to the GBA's limitations but sound weird when directly translated to orchestra. The result is me having to make judgements on what "vibe" the composers were trying to create and try to translate that.
