A sunscreen is the most important antiaging cream you must use all your life. Our skin gets exposed to Ultraviolet A, B, C, infrared rays and visible light from the sun. Apart from this, we get exposed to blue light from television screens, laptop, computers as well as cell phones which could be equally harmful to skin. that also interact light from the lights indoors all these can damage skin. All these rays can cause allergies, sun tan, sunburns, fine lines. hyperpigmentation, dull skin. sagging skin and early aging. UVB rays can cause skin cancer too. Hence it is advisable to use a sunscreen which has SPF, PA + as well as ingredients to protect from infrared rays and blue light. SPF 30 is usually enough unless you are on the beach for long hours. A PA ++++ signifies protection from UVA rays and is extremely important for Indian skin. Zinc oxide and Titanium dioxide are the best physical sunblock ingredients. Chemical ingredients like ensulizole, octisalate, homosalate, octocrylene, octinoxate, oxybenzone, avobenzone are found in most sunscreens are safe to use unless one is allergic to any of the ingredients. Iron oxide is said to protect us from infrared rays. Antioxidants like C ,E, ferulic acid and even some of the botanicals are said to protect us from Blue light. Watch this video to know more.
