🎥 In this episode, my wife Aafreen and I talk about the first five movies we’ve watched in theatres in 2026 — all in just three weeks. It’s been a surprisingly emotional, thoughtful, and entertaining start to the year, with films that touched on faith, war, social justice, satire, and relationships. Here are the movies we discuss: 🎬 David – A faith-based film inspired by the biblical character. While we didn’t fully connect with the movie, it was powerful to finally see the classic David vs Goliath story on the big screen and reflect on why that philosophy still resonates. 🎬 Ikkis (Hindi) – Starring the legendary Dharmendra. This one deeply moved us. It’s about a 21-year-old soldier who sacrifices his life for his country, and the emotional journey of his father decades later as he travels to Pakistan and unknowingly bonds with the man who killed his son. A beautiful message about humanity, loss, forgiveness, and moving on from war. 🎬 Dead Man's wire – Based on a true story. A middle-class man kidnaps the president of a mortgage company, believing he can fight the system. A modern underdog story — almost like a real-life David vs Goliath — where public sentiment turns against corporate greed. 🎬 Happy Patil (Hindi) – A parody comedy. Not our favorite, a bit vulgar, but it had some funny moments and a memorable ending that we discuss. 🎬 Is This Thing On? (Directed by Bradley Cooper) – Our favorite. ❤️ A separated couple reconnect when the husband accidentally discovers stand-up comedy. Funny, heartfelt, and beautifully written — a story about self-expression, relationships, and rediscovering each other. We love movies and have already watched 100+ films in theatres in 2025, and this episode is part of our ongoing movie diary as a couple.
