Somatic Milestones: Blind Boy with CP learns how to walk independently

Bryan is a young boy who is blind and has Cerebral palsy. He has always needed hand support while walking due to his fear of falling. Over the past 6 months he has learned how to balance himself on lightly raised blocks and soft uneven surfaces. We recently were able to help him walk by himself by using a short hand leash which we would release slowly until he was walking on his own. Adapted Spiral Praxis is a somatic re-education process for children which helps them recover their motor potentiality. Through innovative bodywork, motor activities and exploratory play, children learn how to become aware of their body and move it through independent control.
