Sweden, Bjälbo: Visiting a church built 900 years ago

While visiting relatives in the middle of Sweden this summer we got a chance to see a bit of Sweden's history. One day we took a trip to the church in Bjälbo. The church dates back to the 1100s and is still in use. Over the centuries it has been added to and rebuilt and modernised, but you can feel the history looking at the church, especially inside. The altarpiece (big painting) dates back to 1810. There are two baptismal fonts. A medieval baptismal font with a cup of limestone from Gotland, and second one from the 17th century probably made in Mikael Hakke's workshop in Skänninge not far from Bjälbo.
