From 1985, The Amazing Mumford (Jerry Nelson) brings Cinderella to Sesame Street and she looks a lot like actress and SNL legend, Jane Curtain. They could be sisters, it's quite something ;-) First aired on February 20, 1985 (Season 16), it's Episode 2033 of the best darn kids show ever! Hugs and stuff to a longtime Friend of the Archive. DEBUTS: Wet Paint (How Now Brown and the Moo Wave) w/SMV intro (Sesame Music Video, MTV spoof); Maria (Sonia Manzano) as Charlie Chaplin falls in love with a painting (Linda Bove) at the art museum; Rappin' Alphabet w/Ferlinghetti Donizetti (Kevin Clash) and Grover (Frank Oz) break-dancing MUPPET STUFF: Ernie (Jim Henson) and Bert (Frank Oz) in Caveman Days (crossing the street to go to school); Ernie just looooves this boat! (The Love Boat); The Count Von Count (Jerry Nelson) is an elevator operator w/Kermit (Jim Henson); Singing in the Shower w/Olivia (Alaina Reed Hall), Ernie, Oscar, and Big Bird (both Caroll Spinney) STREET STUFF: The street story is all Cinderella and nothing but. This one is definitely a treat for fans of the wonderful Jane Curtain. She must have had a blast filming it! As Cinderella, she learns a lot about life outside of her storybook (and house!) and meets just about every one of the nice folks on the street. The Count does his thing and the Two-Headed Monster (Jerry Nelson and Richard Hunt) teaches her to love again. Wait, no, they just goof around with the alphabet. It's all lots of fun. CARTOONS: L for Lion, Pinball Number Count #11, and Madrigal Alphabet (all Jeff Hale); L Look Around Song (Bruce Cayard); Speech Balloon (L-Loud); The Typewriter (L for lion); Alien Hammock; It's a Lovely Eleven Morning (Bud Luckey); Es un gato (Cat); A girl sings about the things she can draw, paint, and sculpt; I Love You (drawn on a heart); Plants Need Water, Man! (hippie kids try to make their droopy plant grow, a long-time fave in this house) FILMS: Overview of children on a playground forming the alphabet; Sounds Around the House (version 2 w/chimes, snoring, a boy pretending to be an airplane, a man playing a trumpet, and a motorcycle outside); Nature Walk in Winter and Spring (narrated by a little girl) SONGS: Peanut Butter (sung by Joe Raposo, re-filmed version) PLAYLISTS: http://bit.ly/Sesame_Street_FULL_Episodes Shameless Amazon Plugs!
