Sage is so fun in this fight. The amount of free healing + movement makes healing this fight while maintaining uptime feel almost effortless. That said this is by far the most fun Ultimate that I've done to date. From the quick pace, to the fun yet intricate downtime mechanics, I have really enjoyed the overall difficulty of this old Ultimate. On patch this fight would have been significantly harder as the dps/mitigation checks were significantly different, but because of that it makes this fight very enjoyable and easy going. Now this could just be from developing more experience or because of the chill fun environment that I'm in, but with the exception of Adds phase there is no point in time where I felt pressured or stressed out. In fact, it was a very laxed experience for the most part. After progging the fight on DPS I actually found the transition to healer very smooth and easy. There's a lot of downtime so lots of time to use GCDs to heal up, and as long as there's mitigation there's really no lethal raid wides that happen in the early stages of the fight. Plus I had an awesome cohealer who would help out a lot with tank and raid damage. Now I absolutely could've optimized my DPS so much more in this fight, however, I was more focused on having fun and enjoying myself whilst talking to all my friends to even be bothered to try hard dps. (Plus I need to use less piety than I already am and since people tend to die I can't be bothered to risk that.) That said outside of obvious clipping and a couple bits of straight out down time, there really isn't that much to optimize in this fight. The biggest thing I would have done differently if this was PF and I didn't care about my teammates is to not shield Gigaflare during Bahamut, especially in Heavensfall, I lose a lot of GCD's there because I'm panic healing unnecessarily. Adds phase is by far the trickiest to heal as there is so much tank damage going out, I've found using Kera + Physis 2 on the tanks at the start helps a lot with the tank busters and auto attacks. For some parts of adds I did have to shield heal the tanks manually and pray that I get a lucky crit. That phase is very hard hitting on the tanks as there's almost nothing sage can do besides rely on Kardia and whatever healing stacks I have left over from Octet. That phase requires a lot of concentration from the healers as the tanks can die very quickly if they're not being watched. Feel free to use this video as reference for your own prog, the only thing I will say is to use Haima on the second/third GCD of Blackfire when the boss becomes targetable so it'll be back up for Heavensfall and the first set of tank busters in Adds. Also to be sure you have Kerachole up for Megaflare in Adds so it captures the AOE and tank buster. Fortunately shields aren't that necessary in most uptime parts of this fight, however, we have a pretty strong mit plan (with the exception of some minor inconsistencies) that allow me to not have to shield for most of the raid wides. I definitely recommend spamming shields during downtime however as it's free healing that should be used.
