We’re on a 5,000 km motorcycle journey across India. Nagaland and Assam are behind us. Meghalaya, Ayodhya, and Banaras still lie ahead—before we ride back home to Bengaluru. This episode captures the ride from Kaziranga National Park to Cherrapunji (Sohra)—330 kilometres of changing landscapes, unexpected moments, and reminders of how unforgiving and rewarding the road can be. From riding out of Kaziranga alongside tea estates and forest roads, to a quiet prayer at a roadside temple… From witnessing an injured elephant on the highway, to cruising four-lane highways and hill twisties… From a close call with a lorry at the Meghalaya border, to the calm beauty of Umiam Lake (Barapani)… This ride had everything. We navigated heavy traffic in Shillong, smooth flowing highways beyond Umtyngar, familiar mountain roads, and finally rolled into Cherrapunji just as the sun dipped behind the hills. This isn’t just about distance or destinations.
