JWM Trip Report: Murchison Falls National Park Exploration Dates: 5th to 7th July Day 1: 5th July The journey commenced with an unexpected delay at the Uganda Museum, the designated departure point. A logistical setback occurred when our pre-booked coaster broke down en route. Prompt action by our team ensured a swift replacement, and departure for Murchison Falls commenced at approximately 3 PM. Arriving in Masindi at precisely 8 PM, our clients settled into their accommodations before venturing out to Masindi town for dinner at 9:30 PM. The evening concluded with a return to the hotel, marking the end of our first day. Day 2: 6th July An early start from Masindi town at 5 AM led us to Murchison Falls National Park, where the highlight was a memorable 3-hour boat cruise. Despite plans for a subsequent game drive being thwarted by heavy rains, alternatives were considered, including hiring a park service vehicle, deemed cost-prohibitive at 1 million shillings. Instead, the group proceeded to the iconic top of the falls, where they engaged with fellow travelers, capturing stunning photos and enjoying the unique scenery. Departing for Masindi at 5 PM, our return journey spanned approximately 2.5 hours, allowing time for dinner and relaxation, with some guests exploring Masindi town's nightlife. Day 3: 7th July After breakfast in Masindi at 9 AM, our departure for Kampala commenced by 11 AM. We arrived back at the Uganda Museum by 4 PM, where clients dispersed to their respective homes, concluding our enriching journey to Murchison Falls National Park. This report encapsulates the meticulously planned itinerary, highlighted by scenic exploration and unforeseen challenges, offering clients an unforgettable experience amidst Uganda's natural wonders.
