Advanced Tennis Backhand Drills - Top Tennis Training

https://www.top-tennis-training.com/p... Advanced Tennis Backhand Drills - Top Tennis Training. In this video Top Tennis Training coach Simon Konov is working on improving his student Yoan's backhand using seven different tennis drills. The seven different tennis backhand drills are: 1. Open stance backhand drill. The player starts off in a loaded position (lunge position) and holds it for three seconds, then the coach feeds a drive volley and the player explodes up into the shot. 2. Tennis recovery drill for the backhand. The player hits a backhand and while the coach feeds the ball calls out a colour of one of the cones, the player then has to hit and recover to the correct cone. This will improve the recovery to different zones on the tennis court and the players awareness when playing. 3. The coach feeds one low ball which the player hits crosscourt, then feeds a high ball that the player hits down the line. 4. The player hits one shot crosscourt back to the coach who is at the net and then one shot down the line. This drill will help the player speed up the preparation and work on using faster adjustment steps to get into the right position. 5. Backhand with crossover recovery steps. This will help the player to fully rotate into the ball and recover with the most energy efficient footwork pattern. 6. Deep backhand drive volley with recovery around a cone. This drill works on dealing with high, deep backhands and using the open or semi open stance to hit those balls in the most effective way. 7. Backhands on the spot with focus on the rotation of the body during the shot.
