The weirdest bike I own? Yamaha Champ Carb Swap, Custom Cables & Test Ride

I had a little downtime between BMW projects so I an afternoon or two on this weird little Yamaha Champ LC50 - It's a 50cc two-stroke scooter with shaft drive, a monoshock suspension and a single-sided swingarm - all done in 1979! I throw away the old, complicated carburetor and swap on a new knockoff of a PW50 carb. I got it super cheap on ebay with an airbox and cables, which turned out to be a mistake because I ended up having to build my own cables for it since the originals didn't work! I also ended up deleting the oil pump as it interfered with the intake on the new carb. I pulled out the internals and "fabricated" a block-off plate. It runs though! And seems to run well. I rip it around the block and annoy pretty much everyone in the area. Want to see more of the Custom BMW R90/6 Project?
