The S-U-P-E-R Experience: New Scania Engine & More! // *Södertälje, Sweden*

Following the introduction of the successful SUPER-13 engine two years ago, now Scania has introduced the brand new SUPER-11 5-cylinder engine. It shares the same base architecture, but has many new features including variable valve timing, Turbo Dosing ( patented Scania innovation to reduce AdBlue consumption), and many many more- for proper technical details check the Scania website: https://www.scania.com/group/en/home/... The engine comes with 3 power levels ( 350, 390 & 430 hp), weighs 85 kgs less than the SUPER-13 6-cylinder, and consumes 7% less fuel than the old 9-litre 5-cylinder engine. Luckily enough, I was invited to the Scania Demo Center in Södertälje, Sweden to learn about the new engine, and also to compare it with the 13-litre version. The program included discussion and presentation with professional engineers, test driving and visiting the main engine assembly line (where unfortunately I couldn't film).
