W pierwszych dniach maja kulczyki rozpoczęły budowę gniazda na jałowcu przy domu. Przez kilka dni latały po materiały na gniazdo np. pod wierzbę, czy między krzewy. Gdy samica zbierała budulec, samiec jej pilnował. Kulczyki to wyjątkowo mało płochliwe ptaki oraz bardzo bliskie ludziom - budują swoje gniazda w pobliżu ludzkich siedzib. Ptaki skończyły budowę swojego gniazda, ale lęgu się nie podjęły. Makolągwy po raz pierwszy podjęły się lęgu na tui w połowie kwietnia. Samica złożyła 5 jaj. Jednak po mrozach, pod koniec kwietnia gniazdo opuściły. W połowie maja rozpoczęły budowę gniazda na tui obok (możliwe, że to ta sama para). Niedługo potem samica złożyła jaja, a samiec widywany był zbierający pożywienie lub śpiewający głośno gdzieś w pobliżu gniazda. Z gniazda wyleciało 5 młodych. Makolągwy latem żerowały na szczawiu rosnącym na ogrodzie. In the first days of May, the serins started building a nest in the juniper tree next to the house. For several days they were making trips for nesting materials, e.g. under a willow tree or among bushes. While the female was collecting material, the male was guarding her. The serins aren't very timid birds and are very close to people - they build their nests near human habitations. The birds finished building their nest, but did not start breeding. The linnets started breeding on thuja for the first time in mid-April. The female laid 5 eggs. However, after frosts, they left the nest at the end of April. In mid-May they started building a nest on the thuja nearby (it is possible that it was the same pair). Soon after, the female laid her eggs and the male could be seen gathering food or singing loudly somewhere near the nest. 5 young ones flew out of the nest. In the summer, the linnets fed on the sorrel growing in the garden.
