#Bengaljukebox Label : Bengal Foundation Raga Sangeet ♦️ Early Morning Ragas♦️ 🔹Track List 🔹 1. Lalit ▶️ 00:00 Lalit combines both madhyams and requires critical attention to the komal dhaivat employed. The use of successive madhyams lends it a unique character. Commonly described as serene and devotional raga, Lalit is performed at dawn. Arshad Ali Khan (Artiste) Nisar Ahmed Khan (Tabla) Wali Md. Khan (Harmonium) Born in the family of the principal Kirana Gharana musicians, Arshad Ali Khan was considered a child prodigy at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy where he received extensive taleem from his maternal uncle Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan. This skillful rendition of raga Lalit (recorded in 2002) is testimony to Arshad Ali Khan’s maturity and sensitivity as a vocalist. 2. Nat Bhairav ▶️ 18:42 Nat Bhairav is a morning raga which combines the meditative grace of Bhairav and the romantic felicity of Nat. The raga employs all seven notes in the ascent and descent. Apart from dhaivat which is a komal note, the rest are natural notes. Suchisree Ray (Artiste) Soumen Sarkar (Tabla) Hiranmoy Mitra (Harmonium) Suchisree Ray initially received taleem in Kirana gharana and later trained in the Agra and Gwalior gharanas with the acclaimed author and musicologist Pandit Kumar Prasad Mukherjee. In this rendition of the Nat Bhairav (recorded in 2012), the artist has beautifully blended the alaap and vistaar of Agra and Kirana gayaki with well-knit bandish and bol baat, bol taan and layakari of Agra and Gwalior styles. ================================== Bengal Foundation has been promoting Bengali music for decades in order to nurture and uphold the musical traditions of Bengal.
