Paetongtarn, daughter of former PM Thaksin Shinawatra and Thailand’s youngest leader, had apologised, calling her words a negotiation tactic to ease border tensions. But the fallout triggered furious protests, cost her a coalition partner, and reignited political divisions. She becomes the fifth Thai leader in 17 years to be dismissed by this powerful court.
