Sub-total Cholecystectomy is an important bail-out procedure when the critical view of safety is difficult to achieve. The definition, types, technique, advantages & disadvantages of two types of sub-total cholecystectomy, i.e. fenestration and reconstituting type, have been discussed in detail.
