Utah Overland Adventure Series | Episode 2 – Tackling Gold Bar Rim We wake up to a breathtaking Moab sunrise on the trail as Day 2 of our Utah overland adventure begins. With coffee in hand and the Jeeps warmed up, we set our sights on one of Moab’s most iconic and challenging routes—the Gold Bar Rim 4WD Trail. This trail delivers everything Moab is known for: steep ledges, technical rock climbs, slickrock waterfalls, and nonstop obstacles that demand focus and precision. Along the way, we tackle some of the trail’s most notorious features, including Gold Bar Waterfall and Body Snatcher—a section infamous for causing vehicle body damage, and we’ll show you exactly why. Between obstacles, the trail rewards us with incredible panoramic views of the Utah desert, reminding us why Moab is such a legendary destination for four-wheel drive adventures. With the days growing shorter, we’re forced to cut the trail run a bit early to ensure we make it back to camp before dark. The evening takes a meaningful turn as we prepare a full Thanksgiving dinner at camp, gathering around the fire to share great food, reflect on the day, and celebrate a very special occasion together under the desert sky.
