A Muslim man beaten and forced to chant Jai Shree ram in Kanpur, UP | Indian Journo

They kept beating a Muslim man, parading him, while forcing him to chant Jai Shri Ram, while his daughter clung to him & begged the violent goons to spare him. The man is a relative of a Muslim family in the locality that is involved in a legal dispute over a property with their Hindu neighbors. The Kanpur police statement says in July, the two families filed cases against each other at the local police station. The Muslim side had filed an FIR of assault and criminal intimidation first. The Hindu side then filed a case alleging "assault with the intent to outrage the modesty of a woman. Sources say that the Hindutva goons of Bajrang Dal recently got involved in the matter since Muslims were involved and they had been making allegations of forcible conversion against the Muslim family. The victim has filed a complaint & the Bajrang Dal goons have been arrested, police said.
