On the shores of Lake Nasser, life is shaped by waiting, nets, and long absences. Thousands of fishermen now work these waters, far from their families, living for months on islets and makeshift camps. For some, the lake brought work. For others, it erased a homeland. When the Aswan High Dam was completed, Nubian villages, fields, and date palms disappeared beneath the rising waters. Entire communities were displaced, their culture severed from the Nile that sustained it for centuries. This documentary follows fishermen navigating a fragile economy and Nubian families trying to preserve memory, music, and identity along an artificial shore. Between survival and remembrance, it tells a human story of adaptation, loss, and resilience.
