Testimony from arson victims suggest fires set out of revenge

Testimony indicates a former Maryland police chief accused of a dozen arsons set the fires out of revenge, and that some of the victims included his own family. David Crawford, 70, is charged with lighting 12 fires in six different counties, including four in Howard County, which is trying the case first. Prosecutors said they'll prove Crawford set four fires in Howard County in 2017 and 2018 by showing he set eight other fires in other counties in the same way -- all 12 fires as an act of revenge. Prosecutors said Crawford had the same modus operandi, wore the same clothes and drove the same car -- his Toyota Camry with vanity license plates "Sure Can" -- to and from the crime scenes.
