Night Golfing - Taking the latest 2018 7.5 Golf GTI and Golf TSI out on a damp, south circuit of Sepang at Volkswagen Malaysia's first Night Track Day. This video consists of mostly uncut, full length driving of both the Golf GTI and the Golf TSI at Sepang's South Circuit worth about 3 - 4 laps each, on a damp, night circuit. Short driving impressions: Golf GTI Notice the revs go up while speed is being capped? VW's XDS electronic LSD is extremely zealous when managing torque steer especially in the wet, vigorously cancelling out any chance of wheelspin by applying brakes on the affected wheel(s) despite allowing revs to climb even with traction control turned off. Golf TSI Despite the lack of shift paddles, this 147hp / 250nm Golf TSI is most impressive of the MK7.5 2WD range. New 227hp GTI is predictably good but it is the inherently limited 1.4L TSI that surprised with its peppier-than-expected performance. DSG box is intuitive enough to operate on its own, making it less frustrating without the paddles.
