You can author almost any type of report with Infomaptic, but knowing your options can be complicated. So we are starting a series of blog posts to showcase different templates that you can make using Infomaptic. This first example is one that I often use in demos; it's a simple flyer for Farmer's Markets. We start with a dataset of some example markets in Portland, OR. One could easily create flyers like this with almost any tool from Microsoft Word to various Adobe products. You could even do a Mail Merge in Microsoft Word! Or you could use Infomaptic and feed your data directly into the template! Our goal is to construct a flyer for each market that is data-driven. When we update properties in our dataset, we want our brochures to be up to date. Let's start with some data; here, I have a feature service that contains various bits of information about each Market: Name, Schedule, Payment types, etc. To design the flyer, we simply drag and drop the items we need, mostly Field Values, and position them on the design surface.
