My first day skiing in Switzerland didn't quite go to plan – I made it to Grindelwald, but my luggage decided to take a different route. After scrambling to find rental gear, I headed straight up to Grindelwald First to see what the beginner and intermediate terrain had to offer. The morning was spent exploring the slopes around First, getting a feel for Swiss skiing and working out the quirks of my borrowed equipment. By lunch, I was ready to see what else this place had to offer, so I made my way over to the main Grindelwald side of the resort. What greeted me was massive. The terrain here is seriously extensive, with runs spreading across the entire front side of the mountain. But it's not just the skiing that grabs your attention – the views of the Eiger North Face are absolutely mental. That iconic wall of rock and ice dominates the skyline, making every chairlift ride feel like you're part of something much bigger than just a day on the slopes. Despite the luggage drama and rental gear shuffle, Grindelwald delivered. The variety of terrain, the scale of the resort, and those views made it clear why this place is such a draw.
