The ‘Stratford Flyer’ ran from Norwich to Stratford on 6th September, with steam power provided by Black 5 no 45212. The return journey ran into some trouble with a 79 minute late start from Stratford, the ECS from Dorridge being delayed for a considerable period outside Stratford with 47802 leading. RTT showed other services in the area being delayed ‘due to a problem with a steam locomotive’ When it did get underway from Stratford it was pathed behind an equally late running West Midlands Railway class 172 working which stops at every station on the North Warwickshire line, hence progress once on the move was slow. 45212 is seen in this view powering up the gradient at The Lakes, with 47802 looking to be putting some power on from the rear. As it later transpired, the working only got as far as Tyseley where it was then taken into Tyseley yard, where it appears the steam locomotive no 45212 was removed and the train then later continued eastbound over 2 hours late behind the class 47. 1Z36 1618 Stratford Upon Avon to Norwich. #steam #railway #trainspotting #norwich
