This is the third and last part of this series! It also includes a little bit about sounds and names of non-Faroese letters. Thanks for watching! Additional information: The word "navn" (name) sounds more like /naun/ as if the V was a Faroese "U" Some OY differences: Koyrt (driven) = OY sounds like the Faroese O Føroyar (The Faroe Islands) = OY sounds like the Faroese J If someone says in Faroese that "I just arrived from Suðuroy", then "Suðuroy" is going to sound like "Suðri" where the "I" has the sound of the short Faroese "E". Likewise, "... from Nólsoy" will sound like "Nólsi" with the short Faroese "E" sound etc. So basically, a lot of the "OY" endings in the names of the islands do not sound like "OY" when they are said in other forms than the nominative case. The OY in "Føroyskt" (Faroese) sounds like the Faroese I, and the K is silent. You would pronounce it like "førist" The sound os a short "Ø" in some southern dialects is pronounced as a short Faroese "Ú" or the a Danish "Y" in a word like "øll" (everyone/all) Um tú ert føroyskur og hevur nøkur dømi og orð at leggja afturat, so skrivið tey í eina viðmerking her so at eg kann samla fleiri dømi og seta tey inn í hetta feltið.
