Questionable Power-Ups #5: Speed Shoes from Sonic the Hedgehog
Quick, name the one thing everybody knows about Sonic the Hedgehog. No, that's not it. No. What's with you people? I'm talking about his speed. Sonic is known for being quick. You know, powered by Sega's fabled "blast processing." God, you guys suck at this game. Well, anyway, Sonic is known for his wild speed, which makes today's power-up even more questionable. You know what Sonic doesn't need? No ... seriously, stop trying to guess, we're not doing the Family Feud joke anymore. Anyway, Sonic doesn't need any more speed, he's fast enough as it is. Apparently Sega disagreed, because speed shoes is one of the few power-ups found in the original Sonic the Hedgehog. Speed shoes are nothing but trouble, constantly making the game too fast to control and leading to speedy deaths. And do you know how that makes me feel? Yup.
