The Lost Wax Carving Method. An Introduction To Wax Carving Tools Required for Jewellery Making

In this short video, I run through the basic tools you'll require to create jewellery forms using the wax carving method. These are the wax carving tools I routinely use at my jewellery bench, to carve my wax models by hand before they are cast into precious metal via the lost wax investment casting process. As an approximate figure, $400 AUD will get you a decent set up like this one (excluding the Wolf carvers, as they're the cherry on top for any wax carving enthusiast)! Please feel free to drop any questions below, and I'll do my best to answer! Side note: I am currently in the process of building an online jewellery course, tailored specifically to wax carving, metal finishing/polishing and stone setting - so my YouTube fans will see snippets of some footage from the course build! Also, this video is my first trial edit in Adobe Premiere Pro. A huge learning curve ahead, for me!
