( Nov. 29) ---------------------------------------- [Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] [Notes:file video of maliki] On a day when Iraq's Prime Minister heads to Jordan to take part in talks with President Bush about escalating sectarian violence ... There was, yet more violence ... [Notes:video of latest blast] A roadside bomb exploded early on Wednesday next to a police patrol in central Baghdad, At least two people were killed ... Seven others were hurt. [Notes:take map] There were also reports Wednesday that coalition forces -- backed by U.S. Aircraft, killed eight insurgents -- near the northern city of Baqouba. The fighting also left two Iraqi women dead. In the aftermath of the raid, some men sifted through the rubble of a house. [nats of grieving] Some of the bodies were already in coffins hours later. The U.S. Military also said Wednesday that a roadside bomb had killed one U.S. Army soldier and wounded another in northern Iraq, [Notes:screen grab of NY Times website] Meantime, the New York Times is reporting that President Bush's national security advisor, Stephen Hadley has expressed serious doubts about whether Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has the capacity to control the sectarian violence in Iraq.
