In 2005, Alice Ko was discovered by a talent scout and cast in the music video for Jay Chou's song, Maple Leaf. In the following year, Ko officially launched her acting career with her debut film Do Over. Many of the films Ko took part in were selected for the Taipei Film Festival, including Monga, in which she played a timid sex worker who lacked self-confidence, The Bold, the Corrupt and the Beautiful, in which she brought a cold-blooded and manipulative character to life, and Who Killed Cock Robin, in which she appeared as a mysterious victim. Such a wide range of characters demonstrates that Ko is willing to take up different roles. Ko has an impressive record in television drama. In 2016, she played a successful career woman who was calculating and dared to follow her heart in Marry Me, or Not? and won Best Female Lead in a Television Series at the 51st Golden Bell Awards. In 2020, Ko played two characters of very different ages in Someday or One Day and won Best Female Lead in a Television Series at the 55th Golden Bell Awards. In 2022, she was praised for her role in the Netflix comedy Mom, Don't Do That!, a genre different from her previous works. In 2023, Ko appeared as a tender yet determined criminal psychologist in the Netflix drama Copycat Killer. Two weeks after the drama was released on the platform, it ranked as the #2 non-English TV series and the first Taiwanese drama on the top 10 list of the most popular dramas worldwide. Apart from acting, Ko is a writer.
