The Honey Badger Revival and the Ordnance C4 were great for me, so when the Wolverine was announced, I was excited. Following up on Zen, the Wine, the RST-X2 and the other amazing pearl bowling balls I've had the chance to throw in the last year, the wolverine takes so much of what makes those bowling balls good, and puts it all into one package. Using the 2LS system, we put a 4x5x4 layout on the wolverine to make sure it is more responsive to friction than the other pearl options I have and this ball strike from everywhere. I am able to play up the boards with it, get over the gutter cap and everywhere in between. It's not overly sensitive to hand position changes, but enough to be manipulated while maintaining its natural shape. 900 Global hit the nail directly on the head with the pairing of the lacerate 2.0 core with the S70 pearl coverstock. Overall, I think this ball has a place in everyone's arsenal which is very strange for me. Normally I can think of a type of bowler a ball wouldn't work well with, but this ball is just matched up. So, if you enjoyed the Zen, Hustle Wine, or the RST-X2, I think this ball falls right into an arsenal with them. To have controllable pearls with varying amounts of strength and roll built in is just too good to be true. Get yourself a Wolverine, you won't regret it.
