At the Robert Louis Stevenson School, students don’t have to wait for support. When challenges arise, help is available in the moment. This short video offers an inside look at how Stevenson’s Counseling Center and integrated clinical program support students throughout the school day. Students, parents, and faculty share how our therapeutic environment helps students regulate emotions, return to class, and stay engaged in learning. admissions@stevenson-school.org https://www.stevenson-school.org/ The Robert Louis Stevenson School is a college-preparatory, therapeutic high school in New York City serving bright teens navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma histories, school refusal, and executive functioning challenges. This video offers a look inside Stevenson’s Counseling Center and explains how our integrated academic and clinical model supports students throughout the school day. What This Video Covers 1) The Counseling Center (CC) How students can access support during the school day whenever they need it -- without waiting for a scheduled appointment. 2) In-the-moment support Students may take a short break, speak with a clinician, practice regulation skills, and return to class ready to learn. 3) Integrated academic and clinical collaboration Teachers, advisors, and clinicians work closely together to ensure students are supported both emotionally and academically. 4) Building emotional regulation skills Students learn practical tools to manage anxiety, navigate challenges, and build confidence over time. 5) A supportive school environment How Stevenson creates a community where students feel understood, supported, and able to reconnect with learning. At Stevenson, clinical support is woven into the fabric of the school day—helping students develop the emotional skills needed to succeed in school, college, and beyond.
