Radjet 800 Build Mods Maiden Flight

Built a Radjet 800 as a combat plane Looking for more speed than a flying wing with similar manoeuvrability. I added some rudder servos to help with tight turns. It is certainly no glider. The test "glide" busted the point off the nose. It needs a solid toss and then full power + full up elevator to get airborne, but once it gets airspeed... Lookout! You dont see too much flight in this video because my helmet cam went flat, but It is basically a missile with wings. The roll rate is frightening and it rotates dead centre on the fuselage. It is not quite ballistic at full power, but that is of little consequence because it will be out of sight before it stalls ;) The turn radius leaves something to be desired. With all that extra speed, it needs a lot of effort to change direction. My nose-heavy configuration probably doesn't help either. Might be better off with a smaller battery... and bigger elevons for serious dogfighting! The rudders certainly help in the turns, but I havent tested them fully yet. They are pretty touchy and I did not want to get into a stalled flat spin on the first flight.
