Haji: There’s no bad blood between the DCI George Kinoti and myself

Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has played down reports of frosty relationship between him and the Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti. Haji insists that relatiionship between his office and that of the DCI is harmonious and that differences in interpretation of the law should not be misinterpreted. Haji's defence coming at a time when there have been reports of frosty relationship between the two offices over prosecution of a number of high profile cases. The latest spat saw the DPP asking the Inspector General of Police to investigate a DCI officer and charge him for lying after he allegedly failed to share evidence concerning the Tob Cohen case. Two petitions have been forwarded to the Public Service Commission seeking his removal from office over what the petitioners term as mismanagement of cases. Meanwhile, the DPP says that his office is ready to proceed with the murder case of Agnes Wanjiru who was allegedly killed by a british army officer nine years ago.
