Faith isn’t a vague feeling or positive thinking—it’s active trust in a real Person. In this message from Hebrews 11:6, we explore what biblical faith really is, who it must be in, and why so many believers stall out after trusting God for salvation but won’t trust Him with the rest of their lives. Using a vivid bridge illustration, we look at the difference between: Believing that God exists Actually believing God and taking Him at His word From there, we walk through 10 key truths about faith, including: Faith as the channel of God’s saving grace How faith grows from the Word of God (Romans 10:17) Living by faith as union and identification with Christ (Galatians 2:20) Walking by faith, not by sight or feelings (2 Corinthians 5:7) Why genuine faith always produces a changed life (James 2) Faith working through love and service in the body of Christ (Galatians 5) Faith as a shield against the enemy’s attacks (Ephesians 6:16; 1 John 5) Overcoming the world through faith (1 John 5:4) Trusting God’s plan and timing over our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5–6) How trials test and refine our faith (1 Peter 1:3–9; James 1:2–4) We also confront the biggest obstacle to growing faith: self. The message walks through practical “self” issues we must die to—like self-centeredness, self-importance, self-righteousness, self-protection, self-pity, and more—and shows how they keep us from truly trusting and obeying God. Key idea: “Faith flourishes not by focusing on circumstances, but by embracing the character of God.” If you’ve ever: Struggled to trust God beyond your salvation Been up and down spiritually based on your emotions or circumstances Found yourself easily offended, overly self-protective, or stuck in self-pity Wondered why your faith feels weak or stagnant …this message will help you see how knowing who God is and letting go of self leads to real spiritual growth, stability, and usefulness to God. 📖 Main Text: Hebrews 11:6 Other Passages: Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:17; Galatians 2:20; 2 Corinthians 5:7; James 2; 1 John 5; Proverbs 3:5–6; 1 Peter 1:3–9; James 1:2–4 👉 If this sermon helps you, consider sharing it with someone who is struggling to trust God in a hard season.
