Sagop Creek, Barangay Triangulo February 21, 2026 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited Naga City, where he emphasized that the focus was on public service and addressing the City's urgent needs, not on political considerations. He made this statement during a media interview following a series of site inspections. The President said the visit had been scheduled months in advance and reiterated that he would not engage in political discussions. His goals in Naga City were to help find solutions to the flooding problem, an issue he described as a “very critical” one affecting not only Naga City but also Camarines Sur and the entire Bicol Region. Among the areas the President inspected under Oplan Kontra Baha was the 10-kilometer Sagop Creek, a major waterway closely monitored by the local government. The creek runs through five (5) barangays: Del Rosario, Concepcion Grande, Concepcion Pequeña, Triangulo and Tabuco — areas considered highly vulnerable to flooding due to their proximity to the Bicol River Basin catchment. Led by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Oplan Kontra Baha aims to reduce flooding through rapid interventions, including canal declogging, removal of obstructions, river dredging, rehabilitation of pumping stations, maintenance of flood-control structures, and mobilization of equipment and personnel in flood-prone areas. * * Connect with RTVM Website: http://rtvm.gov.ph Facebook: www.facebook.com/presidentialcom and www.facebook.com/rtvmalacanang YouTube: @RTVMalacanang Tiktok: @RTVMalacanang
