Chhay Keur, a breathtaking natural resort tucked away in the southern Cardamom Mountains of Koh Kong province, remains relatively unknown to most visitors. According to Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism, this charming waterfall destination offers a serene journey through lush green forests, passing by vibrant crop fields and rice paddies. Nestled within the valley of Dang Peng commune in Sre Ambel district, Chhay Keur boasts a striking waterfall surrounded by verdant trees. The cool cascade, resembling shimmering ice, the melodious chirping of birds, and the invigorating breeze create an enchanting experience that leaves visitors longing to stay. Getting to Chhay Keur is a straightforward affair. Travelers can make their way from Phnom Penh to Sre Ambel district in Koh Kong province and take a right turn at Sre Ambel bridge onto a gravel path. The resort is located approximately 214 km from Phnom Penh, about 72 km from Sre Ambel Bridge, and over 22 km from Chhay Reap Ecotourism Community. It is important to note that Chhay Reap is not a village, commune, or district, but rather a name that has been in use since the time of the Khmer Rouge regime. The road leading to the resort is accessible to various modes of transportation, including motorcycles, bicycles, personal trucks, and cars.
