DOWNLOAD/STREAM: https://submerchants.fanlink.to/Marathon After blasting onto the scene last month with a monstrous jungle track from TMSV, London-based imprint Sub Merchants are pleased to share with you ‘Marathon’, a 160bpm stomper from Leeds’ own Samurai Breaks - the second in a monthly series of singles, that will ultimately culminate in a full compilation EP exploring the contemporary evolution of jungle music. ‘Marathon’ is a fantastically definitive demonstration of the sound Samurai Breaks has recently become known for, combining elements of jungle, footwork and old-school hardcore in a sound that is quite uniquely his own, making use of a clap-heavy drum pattern paired with a colourfully thick bassline bound to put any soundsystem to the test. Toting previous releases with the likes of Off Me Nut Records, Halogen Beats and Elektrical Records, the latter of which saw Addison Groove behind the wheel on the remix, Samurai Breaks is clearly making his own distinctive mark on the scene, and ‘Marathon’ is no exception.
