SAMBHAASHAN - SEASON 2 - MAMAHRUDAYE - MITHUN SHYAM I am very excited to present this new episode of Sambhashan featuring one of the most talented and leading Bharatanatyam performer from India, Sri Mithun Shyam. Mithun Shyam for me epitomises Guru Bhakti and his attachment to his guru, Vidushi Padmini Ramachcandran reflects in all aspects of his life. He is one of the few young dancers to hold on to one Guru and strictly adhere to her parampara and even pass it on to the next generation. His dancing is unique, untouched by the so called norms of the "in tings" in Dance and is full of passion and one hundred percent commitment. His involvement and attention to detail is noteworthy. we have here picked up a beautiful composition of Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya in Raga Reetigowla and Khanda Triputa. Mithun just reacted to the music with full sincerity and absolutely no preparation. The genuineness of his performance shines strongly in this presentations. The yearning of a bhakta, who wants his lord to always reside and roam around in his heart is presented with depth, devotion and subtle grace.
