Pod 4 (2024): • Eight Sleep Pod 4 Cover Review: Unfiltered... ^ These are unlisted because I don’t want to confuse YouTube’s algorithm (small YouTubers get punished for similar content). They’re not worth watching, just here for transparency. Summary: I’ve owned Pods 2–5. Pod 5 = Pod 4 with buttons and blanket support. I bought the Pod 5 cover only and used my Pod 4 hub. The Pod 5 hub just adds a speaker. What’s new: physical buttons on the cover, blanket compatibility, optional hub speaker. Results: My 2022 test showed 5% more deep+REM (12 min/night). Since then, mixed. I just sleep better cool. Comfort: feels like Pod 4 (good). Dual temps create a subtle barrier. Blanket quick take: mirrors each side, feels amazing for a few minutes, then settles. Re-entry at night can feel jarringly cold. Heavy (~22 lb king), tubing reduces plushness, hoses limit movement, bottom-zip duvets only zip ~25%, layers can shift. Probably not worth $1,000 for most. Noise/heat: fan-like during big changes, quiet once stable. Hub adds heat. Cost: 1st-year sub required. 5-year “real” cost on a King is ~$4,044. Buy: new to Eight Sleep, temp-fighting couples, no wearable tracking. Skip: Pod 4 owners, very hot rooms, solo sleepers, snugglers, people already sleeping great. Trial: 30 nights. If it doesn’t help, return it. Disclosure Four years ago, when I wrote my original Pod 2 review, I had no relationship with Eight Sleep. I was just a happy customer. Later they invited me to their affiliate program. I joined with a few conditions: I buy every product myself, I won’t change content for their brand, and I won’t work on their ad campaigns. I’ve bought four Pod covers with my own money.
