I finally got my hands on a legitimate Republic of Korea Armed Forces combat ration! These South Korean military field rations are rather hard to obtain in the U.S. and command a premium price. This 2022 kit cost just over $100, making it the most expensive single-meal MRE we’ve ever reviewed on the channel. Korea’s Meal Ready to Eat includes one of the most advanced flameless ration heaters in the world, featuring built-in water and a unique pull-string activation system. Our ROK ration pack—Menu 1—featured fried rice as the main and a variety of flavorful sides, including kimchi, sausages, and meatloaf, for a total of 1,317 calories.
