The blue violin I'm playing is an electro-acoustic instrument I made as a teen. Over 3 months, I disassembled and stripped the varnish off an inexpensive violin and converted it into something of my own design, using passive electronics and 3 cans of auto paint. Its sound, realized after years of experimentation, was the foundation of my master’s thesis, for which I composed what would be my first published work.
