The EX5 is one of the few synth that know of that has the possibly of custom keymaps of samples in ROM. But years ago I discovered a trick that makes it possible to alter the samples assignment with most ROMplers. Since the Korg M1 was one of most popular instruments, I'll start with how to change the sample ranges with that synth. The same method can be done with newer instruments like the Kronos. I'll end by showing the EX5 deep editing capabilities in assigning sample. A passage from Saint-Saëns' Symphony No. 3 in C minor, Op. 78 was played for the introduction.
