02-14-26 - Valentine's Day Serendipity @ American Legion Post 41 - SRLB Channel Showcase - An Idiot's Views American Legion, Post 41, Silver Spring, Maryland, U.S.A. So, a good friend recently suggested I see if I could book a spot at the 2nd Saturday showcase at American Legion Post 41 as a way to just get out and meet other musicians and have some fun. Originally, I worked up a bunch of cool covers, but when February arrived, I realized it would be cool to relearn a few original tunes for the SRLB channel and "showcase" them for a new audience some FOUR decades after they were originally "published." The response could not have been better! Honestly, I was a bit surprised, as I was unsure how a 21st century audience would react to these songs, but, Wow, the feedback was all super great and enthusiastic! I was approached by many incredibly talented people who expressed their appreciation for my sharing and performance. Perfectly in line with the themes of the all-new SRLB channel, there's something serendipitous about the whole experience - the timing of the gig and the timing of the new channel going live, the shift from covers to originals (risky!), having less than two weeks, ultimately, to prepare, etc. I expect to have pro shot video in the coming weeks, but for now have a bit of audience video that I'll be posting on the channel in the coming days...
