The Power of Prayer - Bishop Barron’s Sunday Sermon The Power of Prayer - Bishop Barron’s Sunday Sermon Friends, when something tragic happens and people offer their prayers, you’ll often hear now, “I've had it with thoughts and prayers. We have to act.” In some extreme cases, people of prayer are mocked, as though prayer is just something completely ineffectual that we should leave behind in favor of action. We’re the first generation in recorded human history ever to feel this way. Human beings, across cultures, have always believed in the power and efficacy of prayer. Our first reading this week from Exodus 17 beautifully displays this power—and the fact that prayer, far from undermining action, sustains and supports it. Mass Readings: Reading 1 — Exodus 17:8-13 Psalm — Psalm 121:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 Reading 2 — 2 Timothy 3:14-4:2 Gospel — Luke 18:1-8 ———VIDEO LINKS——— How to Build on Conversion Momentum: Ep. 58 | Dr. Christopher Kaczor - Remembering Alasdair MacIntyre: Accepting Christ’s Mercy: ———WATCH——— Subscribe to this Channel: Word on Fire Institute Channel: Word on Fire en Español Channel: ———WORD ON FIRE——— Word on Fire: Word on Fire Español: FREE Daily Gospel Reflections (English or Español): ———WORD ON FIRE INSTITUTE——— Join Bishop Barron and over 20,000 evangelists inside the Word on Fire Institute at ———SOCIAL MEDIA——— Bishop Barron Instagram: Bishop Barron Facebook: Bishop Barron Twitter: Word on Fire Instagram: Word on Fire Facebook: Word on Fire Twitter: Word on Fire en Español Instagram: Word on Fire en Español Facebook: Word on Fire en Español Twitter: ———SUPPORT WORD ON FIRE——— Help Bishop Barron continue to produce videos like this: Word on Fire Store: Friends, when something tragic happens and people offer their prayers, you’ll often hear now, “I've had it with thoughts and prayers.
